CC TAG6 - Authentication
To be sure that you receive a CC Container with an original CC TAG6 label, (which is not re-used), you can authenticate the RFID chip in the label with a RFID scanner in combination with the CC4scanner app. CC has a unique Brand Identifier code in the RFID which can be authenticated by the RFID scanner without the need of an online connection with Wi-Fi or Internet.
For customers who do not have a RFID scanner, CC developed a second authentication method via a mobile phone app (Android and IOS )

- Smaller loop; made of spring metal
- Housing; yellow & transparent
- Guiding pins for closing
- A number of features both inside and outside of the label; here you see the hologram, also a label number and the CC logo are part of the features
- Data matrix with breakline
- Closing pin
The leading authentication method for CC will remain the RFID authentication. In case of doubts the RFID scan result prevails over the smartphone method.
- The HH83/85 scanner, similar to the CC TAG5 authentication.
- TC27 connected to the advised RFID pistol grip.
Both available in the webshop, including the service package with automatic updates and support if any issues occur.
Furthermore, if you already have an TC22, TC21 or TC26 you can install the app yourself on these devices under the pre-conditions:
1. All updates of the app have to be installed manually on your device as well (no automatic updates as with devices purchased in the webshop)
2. The app only works on the TC21 and TC26 when the RFID reader is connected using a pin connector. Not all TC26/TC21 are equipped with this connection.

- You can still authenticate using the SD55 scanner but please note, the device is no longer supported by the supplier.
- The GS Ecco can authenticate the CC TAG6, but is not able to see the difference between the CC TAG5 and the CC TAG6
- The HH83/ HH85 and the Speedata SD55 scanners are updated automatically when the scanners are connected to the internet on the 6th of January 2025 or after this date.
- The GS Ecco is not supported by the suppliers anymore for an update.
- The scanners can also authenticate the CC TAG6 but will not recognize the difference between a CC TAG5 and CC TAG6 so they will count and scan both labels.
CC supported RFID scanners can be purchased in the web shop of Lyngsoe, a third-party who installs the app on the device and delivers support and a repair services if purchased. You can find more details about ordering and technical details of the scanners here.

There are different scanning configurations possible, but CC advises to only use the Close read mode. This gives you direct information which label in a stack cannot be read.
CC launches an app (Android and iOS) for smartphones as an alternative for RFID authentication of the CC TAG6 label. With the installed app you can authenticate the CC TAG6 label based on a combination of visual techniques. This authentication method is more time consuming and less accurate compared to RFID authentication. Therefore, RFID scanning is the preferred authentication method and in case of doubts the RFID scan result prevails over the smartphone method.
