Audits
The purpose of the audit is to assess the reliability and consistency of the container records maintained by CC customers, using output from the customer’s container records.
The audit is stipulated in paragraph 13 of Container Centralen’s applicable General Terms and Conditions.
CC will appoint independent investigation firms for the audits. This can vary per country. An audit will never be performed by staff members of Container Centralen.
Yes, this is agreed in the Terms and Conditions. Cooperation is related to providing insight in the container administration and access to the company’s premises. Not cooperating in accordance with an audit may have legal consequences.
In general the external auditors appointed by Container Centralen will check the opening hours of our customers. In exceptional cases when the company is closed, a new audit will be planned shortly after.
The audit team can always provide a letter of attorney provided by Container Centralen.
Yes, after the audit is performed the auditors will check if anything has been overseen or needs to be added to their findings. After the audit has been concluded, all information is final.
Yes, as our customer the final results will be shared with you. This will be done after review and within a period of 2 months after the date the audit was performed.
The audit company will present all findings in a comprehensive report. This report will be handed over to Container Centralen for final conclusion.
Container administration is the overview of the contract, container records, third-party submissions (auction portals), the contracts with sub-lessors (other than the Client’s). It should be actual at any time and contain relevant proven documents about the number of assets.
The container administration is a key-factor in the audit report. The outcome of the container administration count is the starting point for a physical stock count at the premises of Container Centralen’s customer.
Container Centralen customers are advised to have an actual and precise container administration. When requested by the audit team, this should be handed over immediately. Having a actual container administration can reduce the risk of contractual adjustments.
Any commercial information should not be part of an audit report, and for that should not be shared with the audit team. Examples are pricing agreements, full contracts, or service agreements.
The CC TAG6 will still count as a regular base even if it is unmounted. This is because they can be mounted at any time, and be part of the pool from that moment.
CC advises separating the CC material from the non-CC material. Doing so, our customers have a more specific overview of their stock.
