Keep moving sustainably!

CC and sustainability
Container Centralen provides a sustainable Pool Management system with standardized reusable containers to carry loads of plants and flowers within Europe. However, we strive to keep moving forward and believe the transport that supports our system can become more sustainable too by reducing CO2 emissions. That is why we are working hard to find smart solutions that improve the quality and sustainability of our products and services.

A Green Transport solution
An example of a smart innovation we believe offers promising results is Sennder’s Green Transport solution. Sennder is our Transport Partner of choice for the lane Hazerswoude – Straelen, to bring non functional CC material to and functional CC material back from our repair centre. In 2023 we started using their state-of-the-art Green Transport offerings. We received results over 2023 that show we already prevented 5t of CO2 emission with only 30 loads. Imagine the amount of CO2 emission we could reduce if we can implement the Green Transport solution for even more loads!

About Sennder
Sennder is driving digitalisation and decarbonisation solutions within the industry. Their commitment to innovation extends to embracing Green Transportation solutions, such as advanced fuels like HVO. This “Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil” is a new type of fuel that is made from renewable waste materials like vegetable oils and fats. Since there is no fossil resource involved, this new type of fuel can slash carbon emissions by up to 90%. “Innovation is in Sennder’s corporate DNA”, emphasizes Graham Major-Ex, Director Green Business and eMobility at Sennder. It is Sennder’s mission to leverage data to create an efficient road freight network, connecting shippers with carriers to drive profitability and lower emissions.

Sennder recognises the importance of collaboration in advancing sustainability goals. They are constantly evaluating other technologies, monitoring progress in the market and, expanding their offering in terms of intermodal transport to be able to make a significant contribution to the decarbonisation of the transport industry. “The closer and more intensively we work together in future, the greater our joint impact will be,” said Graham.

Container Centralen is happy to explore the journey with Sennder together to keep moving towards a more efficient and sustainable logistics ecosystem for tomorrow!
