Container Centralen joins RPE meeting in Brussels to discuss circularity with the EU Commissioner 

Container Centralen is a member of Reusable Packaging Europe (RPE), the European industry association representing companies that develop and pool reusable transport packaging systems. Last week, we joined fellow members in Brussels to meet EU Commissioner Jessika Roswall and discuss how reuse contributes to a more competitive and circular European economy. 

As sustainability and packaging regulations tighten across Europe, reuse systems demonstrate that compliance and efficiency go hand in hand. At Container Centralen, reuse is part of daily operations. Through the use of our CC Container, Half-Container, and Euro-Container products, we provide a shared logistics network for the European horticultural supply chain. 

Our pooling services enable our products to circulate thousands of times between growers, wholesalers, and retailers. CC Containers can be dropped off at one depot and collected in matching quantities at another across Europe, reducing empty transport and improving logistics efficiency. Our products and services reduce packaging waste, transport emissions, and overall supply chain costs. 

This meeting highlighted what we see in practice every day: 

• Reuse is working — It’s not a future vision, but a present-day solution that reduces waste and resource use while improving supply chain efficiency. 
• Reuse drives competitiveness — Smarter logistics, cleaner operations, and cost savings all contribute to a more resilient and efficient economy. 
• Reuse needs collaboration — Progress depends on continued dialogue between industry and policymakers to support scale, standardisation, and innovation.
